Job summary

Caring Hospice is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse in Massachusetts to provide after-hours nursing care with a focus on pain and symptom control for hospice patients. The role follows a 7 on/7 off schedule and requires MA RN licensure, reliable transportation, and strong clinical documentation.

The On-Call RN will implement physician plans of care, assess patients, and communicate findings to physicians and families, prioritizing calls from the answering service.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an RN in the state of MA.
• Ability to relate and treat terminally ill patients/families and their particular problems.
• Must possess strong patient assessment, patient management and documentation skills.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skill.
• Access to reliable automobile with proof of liability insurance.
• Communicates pertinent findings to the physician, implements medical treatment plan, instructs family accordingly.
• Identifies problems/needs of patient or caregiver, making recommendations for pain management and comfort/symptom management.
• Responds to calls promptly when received from answering service. Is able to prioritize.
