Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Louisiana is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. The role includes arterial blood gas analysis, EKG review, and education of patients and staff.

Required: Associate's Degree and active RT license in Louisiana; NBRC RRT; BLS; ACLS within 90 days of hire. Strong data entry, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this

Qualifications

Associate's Degree or higher in respiratory care or related field.
Current RT license in the state of practice; NBRC RRT certification; BLS.
ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to policy and procedure.
Reviews and documents all clinical information for each patient.
Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
Performs diagnostic procedures.
Provides age-appropriate care across neonatal to geriatric populations.
Adapts care to respect privacy and communication preferences and participates in schedule flexibility.
