Job summary

Pratum Companies in Washington, DC seeks a Maintenance Technician to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and complete service requests for its residential properties. The role emphasizes timely responses, safety, and quality workmanship across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.

You will assist the Maintenance Supervisor on projects, conduct preventive maintenance, make-ready tasks, inspect systems, and support staff and tenants.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a rotating on-call schedule.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other systems.
• Experience in residential property maintenance and repair.
• Ability to recognize electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failure.
• Experience operating a variety of equipment and small hand tools.
• Knowledge of repair to common appliances and devices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor on special maintenance projects.
• Complete resident service requests promptly.
• Perform make-ready tasks: painting, plumbing, electrical, and appliance work.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections of systems and grounds.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and follow safety protocols.
• Inspect alarm systems and schedule repairs when needed.
• Perform snow removal as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
