Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform mechanical work ensuring buildings, grounds, and amenities meet company standards. Responsibilities include completing resident work orders, managing make-ready units, and maintaining safety and quality across the community.

The role involves coordinating with vendors, inspecting work, and supporting budget planning while delivering strong customer service to residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and related maintenance training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or building maintenance preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents and team members.
• Must provide own hand tools unless prohibited by state law; knowledgeable in safe tool use.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose issues from resident work orders and perform repairs per safety standards.
• Manage make-ready process for vacant units, coordinate with vendors, and inspects completed work.
• Set standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, exteriors, interiors to meet Greystar quality.
• Inspect work by team members and contractors to ensure quality.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and order supplies within budget.
• Complete monthly preventative maintenance per policy.
• Assist Community Manager with budget for repairs and capital projects.
• Support cost-cutting by repairing rather than replacing where feasible.
• Lead safety meetings and stay updated on OSHA requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and respond to maintenance inquiries.
