Job summary

Jefferson County Public Library is seeking on-call Patron Experience Substitutes to provide frontline customer service to diverse residents of Jefferson County and beyond. You’ll help patrons find information, access library services, or discover their next read, while supporting teammates to create a welcoming, high-quality experience.

Substitutes are limited-benefit, temporary staff who may work at JCPL locations, the Call Center, or the Bookmobile, up to 25 hours per week.

Qualifications

• No specific degree, certification, or prior library experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and referrals to patrons in person, by phone, and online.
• Assist with reader’s advisory services and programs.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to support library services.
• Promote programs and assist with onboarding and tours as needed.
