Job summary

National Church Residences is seeking a Property/Facilities Maintenance professional to perform general maintenance, prepare move-in units, and oversee preventive tasks across residence facilities. The role includes upkeep of common areas, grounds, and safety systems, plus coordination with vendors and on-site staff to ensure compliant, high-quality living spaces.

The position requires 1–2 years in maintenance, a high school diploma, and solid mechanical/problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of janitorial equipment and maintenance procedures.
• Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and ability to work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance of resident units and common areas (carpentry, painting, general repairs).
• Prepare vacant units for move-in (painting, cleaning, carpet cleaning).
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance; keep logs and records.
• Maintain security systems, fire alarms, and door locks.
• On-call duties as directed and in coordination with the team.
• Assist outside vendors and service providers as needed.
• Perform landscaping (mowing, trimming, bed maintenance) and grounds upkeep.
• Keep grounds, parking lots, and driveways clear of snow and ice; clean and maintain walkways.
• Clean common areas: trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, furniture cleaning, fixtures, windows, mopping.
• Clean/deodorize bathrooms; restock paper products.
• Remove trash from common areas; maintain dumpster area.
• Track preventive maintenance procedures and complete work orders per policies.
• Maintain communication with residents, staff, vendors, and management; report concerns.
• Attend meetings; complete required records and reports.
• Support residents’ rights and dignity; report complaints promptly; follow compliance rules.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams; uphold fair housing laws.
• Complete training in a timely manner.
