Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking Experienced Mobile Diesel Technicians to support client fleets with on-site maintenance and rapid diagnostics at their locations. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel trucks, managing service-truck inventories, and providing exceptional customer service on site.

Minimum 5 years as a Class 7/8 technician is required; CDL is preferred though not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections as assigned.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned duties daily.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and determine malfunction; plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and repair procedures.
• Perform diagnostics and document work in the mobile service program.
