Job summary

Kenneth Young Center is seeking a Mobile Crisis Response Counselor to provide immediate crisis intervention and on-site support in Mount Prospect, IL. The role covers de-escalation, risk assessment, safety planning, and linkage to ongoing care via the CCS Crisis Care System, with 24/7 crisis line support.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Psychology, 2–3 years of relevant experience, and a valid IL driver’s license with access to a well-maintained vehicle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in social work, psychology, or closely related field.
• Two to three years of experience preferred in mental health, case management, or community support.
• Valid IL Driver’s License and auto insurance are required.
• Must regularly work in an office and spend significant time in the community driving to sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis screening, assessment, and support to clients and families in mental health crises, including on-site and in-person screenings.
• Maintain 24/7 on-call coverage and collaborate with the crisis team to meet program goals.
• Perform short-term follow-ups and provide clinically appropriate dispositions.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other KYC programs and outside agencies as needed.

Education
