Job summary

DuPage County Health Department in Wheaton, IL is seeking an on-call Mobile Crisis Response Counselor to join the Crisis Services team. You will handle on-call shifts, including overnights and weekends, respond to mobile crisis events, and provide crisis evaluation and community resource linkages to children, adolescents, and adults.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology or Social Work or related field and two years of experience with chronically mentally ill

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field.
• Two years of experience working with chronically mentally ill population.
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community-based crisis evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults
• Provide referral and community resource linkage, including CARES/SASS, law enforcement, hospital settings, and families/individuals
• Consult with staff concerning client and program issues and provide other case management services as needed
• Work collaboratively with community providers
• Complete required documentation within established timeframes
• Maintain confidentiality of privileged information and adhere to client privacy laws
• Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups and cultures
• Maintain required training, licensure, and certification
• Adhere to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
• Use an Electronic Client Record and additional call management software
• Demonstrate independent judgment
• Participate in emergency response activities as assigned
• Provide emergency and crisis intervention service
