Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for our Paramus, NJ hospital-based lab on an on-call/as needed basis. The role requires performing tests of moderate to high complexity with independence and ensuring quality control per SOPs.

Candidates should have 1 year of full-time clinical lab experience, a BS in Medical Technology or related field, and ASCP certification is preferred. This opportunity includes benefits typical for hospital employment and potential performance

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Bachelor’s or associated degree in a qualifying field as listed in the knowledge section.
• ASCP certification is preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests of moderate/high complexity with independent judgment.
• Support QC, troubleshoot complex problems, and assist in training and process improvement.
• Document QC analyses and ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Enter results into LIS and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of laboratory areas and equipment.
• Assist supervisor with training of staff as needed.
