Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist II in Paramus, NJ. This hospital-based role at From Road is on-call/as needed with an 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule. Pay ranges from $32.00 to $50.73 per hour, with potential annual bonus based on performance and company factors.

Candidates should have required education; ASCP certification is preferred. The role emphasizes testing, QC, instrument troubleshooting and compliance with CLIA/HIPAA/OSHA policies.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Prefer 3 years of clinical experience with most recent year in present department.
• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• Foreign educated candidates must provide a credential evaluation from IERF.
• Must meet CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Must demonstrate proficiency in all areas of testing and troubleshoot instruments/procedures.
• Provide support in quality control, troubleshooting, customer support, instrument maintenance, staff training and process improvement.
• Perform and report assigned analytical tests per SOP and ensure QC requirements are met.
• Adhere to policies for specimen handling, testing, reporting and record keeping.
• Maintain turnaround times including STATS or critical results.
• Enter results into LIS for standardized physician reports.
• Maintain clean, safe laboratory areas and functioning equipment.
• Complete training and competency checklists; may assist with training others.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements.
• May assist supervisor with training; may assume lead responsibilities in absence of supervisor.
