Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for a hospital-based role in Old Bridge, NJ (Raritan Bay). The shift runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with rotational weekends, performing moderately to highly complex tests with independent judgment.

The position requires a BS/TA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology and may prefer ASCP certification. You will troubleshoot instruments, ensure QC, and document results in the LIS, contributing to accurate patient

Qualifications

• One year full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory.
• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology, or related degree.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report analytical tests per SOPs with QC requirements.
• Troubleshoot instruments, support quality control, maintenance, training and projects.
• Enter test results into LIS for standardized physician reports.
• Ensure safe handling of specimens and adherence to policies.
• Maintain turnaround times including STAT/critical results.
• Inform supervisory personnel of testing issues and anomalies.
• Support training of other laboratory personnel and compliance with safety.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements.
