Job summary

Volunteers of America seeks a PRN Trained Medication Assistant for Mary Marshall Assisted Living in Arlington, VA. Qualifications

• Registered or certified nursing assistant.
• State-approved medication administration training with certificate.
• Effective communicator with staff, families and outside agencies.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Follow shift routines, policies and procedures for vital signs and medications.
• Prepare, administer and chart medications accurately and safely.
• Count narcotics with another RN, LPN or TMA as required.
• Obtain full resident information and new orders on report.
• Utilize pharmacy references and nursing staff for medication questions.
