Job summary

MRK is seeking a Maintenance Technician in New Jersey to handle repairs, troubleshoot systems, and perform preventative maintenance across assigned properties, with timely completion of work orders. Responsibilities include restoring vacated apartments, snow/ice removal, janitorial duties, and responding to on‑call emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays.

The role requires reading and speaking English and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of maintenance or construction experience.
• One year of experience as a full‑charge residential maintenance technician is preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations is preferred.
• EPA certification preferred.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Must be able to work a flex schedule and be on‑call for emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Requires the ability to read, speak and comprehend the English language.
• Proficiency in performing plumbing, electric and machinery repair.
• Ability to follow direction and work independently in a fast‑paced, action‑oriented environment.
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs, troubleshoots mechanical systems, and completes preventative maintenance.
• Restores vacated apartments to move‑in condition for new residents.
• Removes snow, ice and leaves from sidewalks, walkways, steps and driveways/parking spaces.
• Completes janitorial requirements in accordance with the janitorial schedule.
• Responds to on‑ call emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays—resolving issues.
• Patrols property daily to identify areas in need of cleaning and completes required work—remove trash/debris from property grounds and common areas.
