Job summary

The John Stewart Company is seeking a maintenance technician to perform a wide range of upkeep tasks across our apartment communities. The role emphasizes safe work practices, physical effort, and strong attention to detail while delivering friendly service to residents.

Responsibilities include scheduling work orders, routine repairs, unit turnovers, and inspections. Candidates should have at least two years of relevant experience and basic math and computer skills; REAC knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• On-call capacity and reliable transportation required.
• Fluent English; bilingual a plus.
• Strong time management and customer service orientation.
• Basic math skills and computer literacy are required.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in apartment communities or similar.
• Knowledge of REAC and regulatory inspections is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and respond to work orders, coordinating with residents and management.
• Ensure preventive maintenance scheduling is up to date.
• Perform cosmetic and routine maintenance across the community.
• Handle unit turnovers and prepare for new move-ins, meeting deadlines.
• Conduct move-in and move-out inspections and quarterly PM inspections.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and masonry repairs as needed.
• Coordinate and supervise vendor work with the Property Manager.
• Be on-call for off-shift and weekend emergency coverage as scheduled.
