Job summary

The John Stewart Company in Santa Clara, CA is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, emergency, cosmetic and routine maintenance across our apartment communities.

You will schedule and respond to work orders, keep preventive maintenance up to date, conduct unit turnovers and inspections, and coordinate with the Property Manager and vendors. This full-time role offers competitive pay and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience performing maintenance tasks in an apartment development or comparable position.
• Basic math and computer skills; fluent in English; bilingual a plus.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work on-call including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and respond to work orders, coordinating with residents and management.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and inspections.
• Perform cosmetic and routine repairs throughout the community.
• Handle unit turnovers and preparations for new move-ins.
• Conduct move-in/out inspections and quarterly PM inspections.
• Repair plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and masonry tasks.
• Coordinate and oversee vendor work with the Property Manager.
• Be on-call for off-shift and weekend emergencies.
