Job summary

The John Stewart Company is seeking a maintenance technician to join our team. This role involves preventative, emergency, cosmetic and routine maintenance across our apartment communities, with emphasis on safety, accuracy and timely service.

Responsibilities include responding to work orders, coordinating with the Property Manager, performing essential repairs, conducting inspections, and being on-call for off-shift emergencies. English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• On-call capacity with reliable transportation.
• Basic math and computer skills; fluent in English (bilingual a plus).
• Excellent time management abilities.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in apartment maintenance.
• Knowledge of REAC or other regulatory inspections is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and responds to work orders with residents and management.
• Ensures preventative maintenance scheduling is up to date.
• Performs cosmetic and routine maintenance across the community.
• Handles unit turnovers and move-in/move-out prep to meet deadlines.
• Conducts move-in and move-out inspections.
• Performs basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and masonry repairs as needed.
• Coordinates and oversees vendor work with the Property Manager.
• On-call for off-shift and weekend emergencies.
