Job summary
Blue Summit Hospice and Palliative Care is seeking an experienced Hospice RN on-call for weeknights to provide compassionate nursing care to patients receiving hospice services. You will assess patients remotely or in person, manage symptoms, and guide families with clear communication.
Role requires an active RN license, 2+ years in clinical nursing (preferably hospice/palliative), and availability Monday–Friday evenings.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of practice within the United States.
- Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in hospice/palliative care.
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Availability to work weeknights Monday through Friday as the on-call nurse.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to clinical inquiries and emergencies during weeknights.
- Provide expert nursing assessment and symptom management for comfort and QoL.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary hospice team to coordinate care plans.
- Document all interactions accurately in EMR per regulatory standards.
- Offer emotional support and education to patients and families.
- Escalate to on-site staff or emergency services when needed.
- Maintain up-to-date hospice policies and best practices.
