Job summary

Vitality Hospice is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate after-hours hospice care across evenings, nights, and weekends. You will respond to patient needs, manage symptoms, educate families, and coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comfort and quality end-of-life care.

Requires a PA RN license and at least 1 year of RN experience; hospice background is preferred, with training available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience (Hospice, Home Health, Oncology, ICU, ER, or Med-Surg preferred).
• Hospice experience preferred, but we’ll train the right candidate.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and compassionate bedside manner.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the clinical team.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to after-hours patient needs and symptom management.
• Perform nursing assessments and develop interventions.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary hospice team.
• Complete timely, accurate EMR documentation.
• Maintain compliance with Medicare, state regulations, and hospice standards.
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage while delivering exceptional care.
