Job summary

Good Shepherd Hospice is seeking a compassionate On Call Registered Nurse to serve patients and families in Springfield and surrounding communities. The RN will assess, plan and provide care to maximize comfort and health in line with the interdisciplinary plan of care.

The role emphasizes communication with physicians, bereavement support, and timely documentation while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to hospice philosophy of care.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in the state where care is provided.
• Hospice experience preferred.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records and information.

Responsibilities

• Receives patient assignments and coordinates care with care team.
• Maintains regular communication with attending physicians and hospice staff.
• Instructs patients and caregivers on medications, care tasks, and safety.
• Performs and documents nursing assessments, planning and care per the Plan of Care.
• Supports 24/7 coverage for patients and families as needed.
• Participates in team meetings and care conferences.
• Ensures up-to-date documentation and regulatory compliance.
