Job summary

Good Shepherd Hospice is seeking a compassionate On Call Registered Nurse to serve patients and their families in Wichita and surrounding communities. The RN provides nursing assessment, planning and care to maximize comfort and health in accordance with the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care.

Responsibilities include coordinating with physicians and care teams, maintaining patient records, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in the state where care is provided
• Hospice experience preferred
• Integrity and confidentiality of patient records
• Team player following care plans and policies
• Strong organizational and self-management skills
• Pass background checks and have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Receives patient assignments and coordinates with physicians and hospice team
• Maintains regular communication with attending physicians and families
• Documents patient data and updates the Plan of Care
• Instructs patients and caregivers on medications, personal care, and safety measures
• Provides 24/7 coverage as needed and participates in team meetings and care conferences
• Supports bereavement communication and helps families through end-of-life care
