Job summary

The Scion Group is hiring a Porter/Gatekeeper to maintain the common areas of a residential property in Chapel Hill, NC. The role requires initiative, attention to detail and reliable, customer-focused service in a collegiate environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning, lawn care, repairs, safety promotion, and on-call support. A HS diploma and valid driver's license are required, with the ability to lift up to 100 lbs and stand 8 hours daily.

Qualifications

• High school/GED or trade school diploma and one year of experience in some aspect of lawn/grounds maintenance
• Efficient in reading instructions and documenting labor and materials
• Record of punctuality and dependability, ability to work with under pressure of deadlines, and schedule flexibility to accommodate after-hours and weekend emergencies
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Ability to stand 8 hours or longer per day and lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain physical condition of the property per SOPs, OSHA and industry standards
• Perform physically demanding work to maintain assets and features
• Remove trash and debris from common areas
• Sweep and remove debris from curbs, parking areas, walkways and stairways
• Maintain and repair stairwell treads
• Maintain and repair exterior lighting by replacing bulbs and reporting inventory
• Mow lawns, trim plantings, rake leaves, remove debris
• Apply weed and feed to lawn areas; seed and water as needed
• Install seasonal plantings and decorative features
• Trim and prune trees and shrubs
• Maintain and repair irrigation systems and fountains
• Clean pool and spa per manufacturer specs
• Perform routine pool equipment maintenance
• Know emergency procedures and how to operate shutoffs
• Promote safety to limit property loss or injury
• Keep drainage grills clear of leaves
• Pressure-wash sidewalks and buildings
• Assist in snow removal
• Undertake training related to duties
• Maintain required uniform and professional appearance
