Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician – Commercial Generators to perform maintenance and repair of generator and power distribution equipment on contractual and non-contracted sites.

Responsibilities include on-site customer support, 24x7 on-call coverage, and hands-on electrical and control systems work. The role requires three years of generator experience, the ability to read schematics, and proficiency with Woodward/Beckwith/PLC controls.

Qualifications

• Three years of field experience servicing generator systems with 500kW+ capacity.
• High School diploma or GED; related military experience or equivalent.
• Perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics and fuel-system priming.
• Troubleshoot ATS and read electronic schematics with guidance.
• Learn advanced generator/electric controls including Woodward/Beckwith/PLC.
• Read safety manuals and service manuals; apply basic math concepts.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
• Observe all safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Daily travel with independent work structure.
• Provide 24x7 on-call services as required.
• Maintain and safeguard equipment, tools, and instruments.
• Battery installations and replacements.
• Perform preventative maintenance on contracted equipment.
• Maintain customer contact and interface.
• Coordinate on-site subcontractors as necessary.
• Maintain company vehicle and ensure work quality to standards.
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely.
• Provide technical support to customers and maintain documentation.
• Attend training and own a personal set of tools.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed.
