Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond high school in sonography.
• Typically requires 2 years of experience as a Sonographer.
• Proficiency in general and vascular sonographic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment for general, vascular and/or cardiac studies.
• Review medical records and orders to ensure exam accuracy.
• Position patient, select transducer, and optimize imaging parameters.
• Identify and label images with patient name and MRU/scan details.
• Document billing codes and enter study information in RIS.
• Identify equipment issues and communicate with staff for replacements.
• Analyze sonograms and communicate findings to the physician.
• Serve as a resource and mentor for staff and students.
