Qualifications

  • Advanced training beyond high school in an accredited Sonography program.
  • No experience required.
  • Licensure/registrations to be obtained within specified timelines as outlined.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular and/or cardiac studies and differentiate normal vs. pathologic findings.
  • Review patient records, lab results, and physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Position patient and select transducer and factors for accurate studies; ensure safety and comfort.
  • Identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical and diagnostic information.
  • Label images with patient name and MRU/scan location; enter data into radiology information system and document billing codes.
  • Communicate findings to the physician and maintain regulatory compliance.
