Job summary

General Maintenance Technician position at Tigua in Brownsville, TX, involves maintaining and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural systems across land port facilities. You will manage work orders, inspections and repairs, and ensure safety compliance.

The role requires ability to pass a government background check and drug screen, with potential overnight travel. On-call duties 24/7, including nights and weekends, are expected along with the ability to read manuals and schematics

Qualifications

• Must pass government background investigation and drug screening.
• HSPD-12 clearance required or able to obtain.
• 2–3 years’ experience in basic electrical, mechanical and computer technology.
• OSHA-10 certification preferred; must be completed within 30 days if not already.
• Must be able to lift up to 50–80 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues for timely resolutions.
• Conduct monthly preventive maintenance and inspections to identify risks.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff and contractors to complete projects.
• Provide emergency response and repairs to minimize downtime.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment; assist in schedules and procedures.
• Respond to Priority 1/2/3 work orders with defined timeframes.
