Job summary

Tiguainc is seeking a General Maintenance Technician in Laredo, TX to perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across multiple sites. The role requires the ability to pass a government background check and drug screening and supports potential contract work.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and record-keeping, with after-hours and on-call support as needed. OSHA-10 preferred, travel possible for port facilities in the region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; maintenance training preferred.
• 2–3 years’ experience in basic electrical, mechanical, and computer technology.
• OSHA-10 certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural components.
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
• Conduct inspections and monthly preventive maintenance to identify potential problems and mitigate risks.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors to complete projects efficiently.
• Provide emergency response and repairs as needed to minimize downtime and maintain operational integrity.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
• Assist in the implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Must be able to respond to Priority 1 work orders immediately; communicate detailed status updates.
