Job summary

Pierce County is seeking an Extra Hire Equipment Technician to maintain and repair gas and EV powered vehicles and trailers. PPE and tools are provided to ensure a safe working environment.

The role requires a Master Technician certification (ASE) or journey level status, plus four years as an assistant to a journey level mechanic and a valid driver’s license. The job is physical and hours may be inconsistent, 3–6 hours daily when called in.

Qualifications

• Certification as Master Technician from ASE, OR Full journey level status.
• Four years of work experience as a full-time assistant to a journey level mechanic.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform progressive preventative maintenance on gas and diesel powered vehicles, trailers, and associated equipment.
• Perform full range of maintenance and repair functions on gas and diesel powered vehicles, trailers, and associated equipment.
• Repair gas and diesel engines, transmission, fuel, electrical and hydraulic systems and components.
