Job summary

Chenega Security SBU seeks a Fire Captain to lead fire and emergency services operations on a scheduled shift. You will supervise daily activities, direct emergency responses, and ensure personnel readiness, training, and safety compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills, with extensive experience in firefighting operations and incident command. A Secret clearance and background check are mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible fire service experience.
• Required certifications include DoD (IFSAC), Pro Board, or Mississippi State Fire Officer II and related advanced IC/Instructor/ HazMat qualifications.
• Must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage daily fire department operations during assigned shifts.
• Supervise and coordinate emergency response activities across fire suppression, rescue, hazmat, and EMS incidents.
• Evaluate readiness and implement corrective actions addressing deficiencies and risks.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety standards, and guidelines.
• Assume Incident Commander role when required and coordinate with mutual aid and stakeholders.
