Job summary

The City of Montebello seeks a capable fire supervisor to plan, coordinate, and oversee a fire company on an assigned shift. You will lead initial command at emergencies, direct firefighting and emergency medical services, and ensure training for assigned personnel.

You will also handle administrative tasks, contribute to budget preparation, and produce various reports. Occasional driving of fire apparatus is required, and you may serve as Battalion Chief when needed.

Qualifications

• Fire Officer Certificate as issued by the CA Fire Marshal at time of application.
• CA Driver’s License with Firefighter endorsements in good standing.
• Current Emergency Medical Technician certification in good standing.
• Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations certification at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise a fire company during an assigned shift.
• Provide initial command at emergencies and direct firefighting and EMS functions.
• Develop training and staff evaluation, and handle administrative duties.
• Drive fire and emergency equipment when required.
• Assist with budget development and prepare reports.
