Job summary

RANGE is seeking a Data Services Technician to install and maintain telecommunications services, cabling, and customer premise equipment. The role includes troubleshooting, repair, and coordination with other departments, with on-call responsibilities and some travel.

Responsibilities cover installation, maintenance of plant equipment, cable testing, battery testing in data centers, and ensuring compliance with safety policies. You will document work orders and assist with IT services as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Minimum 2 years of telecommunications data services experience.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Pole/tower climbing certs preferred.
• Technical school or associate degree in Electronics/Telecommunications.

Responsibilities

• Install and transfer voice, data, and non-regulated services.
• Repair and maintain plant equipment including copper/fiber cables.
• Document installations and repairs for billing and records.
• Install and maintain wireless equipment (APs, cameras, PBX).
• Monitor alarms and ensure regulatory compliance.
• On-call rotation with potential after-hours work.
• Perform basic building maintenance and coordinate with contractors if needed.
