Job summary

WSP is seeking On Call Field Archaeologist Technicians for immediate openings across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. This hourly, temporary role supports Phase I surveys and related fieldwork.

Ideal candidates will have an undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology and 3+ years of field experience, with strong survey, excavation, and data recording skills and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology.
• 3+ years relevant work experience.
• Ability to travel to project sites.
• Physically able to conduct fieldwork in all weather conditions.
• Strong written and verbal communication for scientific audiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Phase I Intensive Cultural Resources Surveys, including pedestrian surveys.
• Conduct excavation and record shovel tests and artifact recovery.
• Record data using field forms, noting artifact type, soil color and texture.
• Work effectively as part of a field team and follow safety policies.
