Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an On Call Field Archaeologist Technician for immediate availability across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas. This on-call, hourly role supports Phase I surveys and related fieldwork, with compensation depending on experience.

Local candidates in TX, OK, or LA are preferred. Responsibilities include pedestrian surveys, shovel-test excavations, artifact recovery and recording data using field forms.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or a closely related field.
• Archaeological field school or similar archaeological field experience.
• 3+ years relevant work experience.
• Self-motivated with ability to conduct fieldwork in all weather conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet objectives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Phase I Intensive Cultural Resources Surveys, including pedestrian survey, excavation and recording shovel tests, recovery and identification of artifacts.
• Record archaeological data using field forms, including artifact types, soil color, soil textures, and other relevant information.
• Work effectively as part of a team and adhere to safety policies.
