Job summary

WSP USA is seeking On Call Field Archaeologists for multiple surveys planned in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. This on-call, temporary hourly role starts at $22/hour and favors candidates local to Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana, though all qualified applicants will be considered.

You will assist with Phase I surveys, perform pedestrian surveys, shovel test excavation, artifact recovery, and field data recording.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or closely related field.
Archaeological field school or similar archaeological field experience.
0-2 years of archaeological or anthropology related experience.
Physically able to conduct fieldwork in all weather conditions and follow instructions.
Competent interpersonal and communication skills for scientific and non-scientific audiences.
Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Assist with multiple Phase I Intensive Cultural Resources Surveys, including pedestrian survey, excavation and recording shovel tests, artifact recovery, and data recording.
Work effectively as part of a team and adhere to safety and conduct policies.
