Job summary

WSP USA is seeking On Call Field Archaeologists for multiple surveys across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas. This on-call hourly position offers competitive starting pay and requires local availability to Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana sites.

Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field, 0-2 years of experience, and the ability to work independently or in a team in varying weather conditions. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or a closely related field.
• 0-2 of archaeological or anthropology related experience.
• Self-motivated and physically able to conduct fieldwork in all weather conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with a scientific and non-scientific audience.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking and prioritization in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet objectives.
• Basic proficiency with business writing, office software and related tools.
• Commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Phase I Intensive Cultural Resources Surveys, including pedestrian survey, excavation and recording shovel tests, and artifact recovery and identification.
• Record data using field forms, including artifact types, soil color and textures, and other relevant information.
• Work effectively as part of a team and adhere to the Code of Conduct and policies.
