Job summary

WSP USA is seeking On-Call Field Archaeologists for multiple projects across the Southwest, Midwest, and Southeast. You will assist with collecting and documenting artifacts and archaeological data from field sites, contributing to quality control and site assessments, while following safety and company policies.

Ideal candidates will have an undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology with field experience, 3-5 years in the field, and ability to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field; archaeological field school or similar field experience.
• 3-5 years of archaeological or anthropology experience.
• Experience conducting Phase I/Class III pedestrian survey and shovel testing.
• Self-motivated, physically able to conduct fieldwork in all weather conditions.
• Ability to travel to project sites and work schedules aligned to projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, identifying, and compiling artifacts, observational, spatial, and archaeological data from field sites.
• Maintain quality control standards and accurate documentation.
• Perform basic professional archaeological work and contribute to site assessments.
• Generate complete, accurate documentation using electronic systems and field notebooks.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and site procedures; manage data and logs.
• Utilize modern archaeological methods and tools for site studies and impacts.
