Job summary

WSP USA is seeking On Call Field Archaeologists for multiple projects across the southwest, Midwest, and southeast to support fieldwork during the late summer and fall seasons.

You will collect and identify artifacts, record spatial data, assist with site investigations for construction and energy projects, and produce clear documentation. The role requires travel to project sites, strong safety practices, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field.
• Archaeological field school or similar field experience.
• Ability to travel to project sites and work in field conditions.
• 0–2 years of archaeology-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, identifying, and compiling artifacts and data from field sites.
• Maintain quality control for measurement and documentation.
• Support basic professional archaeological work and site verification.
• Generate complete documentation using electronic systems and field notebooks.
• Follow safety guidelines and site procedures.
• Utilize current archaeological methods and analyze potential impacts.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Travel to project sites as required.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
