Job summary

WSP USA seeks an On-call, Part-Time Field Archaeologist to support projects in Louisville, KY; Lexington, KY; Kansas City, MO; Ballwin, MO; and Jefferson City, MO. You will assist in Phase I/II field testing, document findings, and work with a project team to meet client objectives.

We value safety, reliability, and the ability to travel to sites as needed. Opportunities for long-term work and possible full-time employment based on workload.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in anthropology, archaeology, historic preservation, or related field.
• Archaeological field school completed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and physically able to conduct fieldwork in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field projects during Phase I and II testing, performing pedestrian reconnaissance and shovel tests.
• Document findings with detailed notes and Munsell soil descriptions; complete field forms.
• Assist in prehistoric and historic artifact identification and document deposits.
• Work as part of a project team and adhere to WSP’s policies and safety standards.
• Support travel to multiple sites as required by assignments.
