Job summary

MoDOT is seeking an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator to perform critical snow removal on Missouri roads. Hours vary with weather events; the hourly rate varies by season, with an extra $1 per hour for night work (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.).

CDL is required, and duties include operating plows and spreading ice control materials, plus vehicle and site maintenance. The role requires night/overtime work, outdoor exposure to hazards, and strict background checks.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (EI or NI).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
