Job summary

The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) department is hiring up to three EDS Responders for the Greater Boston, Mass Bay region on an on-call, part-time basis.

These positions are non-exempt and offer benefits such as generous paid time off, a company pension plan after 1 year, supplemental insurance options, and a mission-driven role serving the community. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $25.00 per hour, with starting pay varying by experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EDS/Emergency Management training preferred.
• Willingness to work irregular hours and drive disaster vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies in assigned area.
• Prepare and serve bulk meals and support with EDS vehicles.
• Coordinate with local volunteers and EDS leadership on scene.
• Assist with equipment readiness and deployment during major responses.
• Provide updates, run sheets, and media information as needed.
