Job summary

The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services seeks up to three on-call EDS Responders for the Greater Boston and Mass Bay region. Positions are non-exempt and pay ranges from $17.00 to $25.00 per hour, with eligibility for PTO, pension, and supplemental insurance.

Responsibilities include emergency response, mass meal production, and coordination with partners and volunteers. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, willingness to work irregular hours, a valid driver’s

• Requires ability to work irregular hours and on‑call shifts.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive disaster vehicles.
• Basic computer skills and comfortable using digital tools are required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies in the assigned Mass Bay area.
• Provide bulk meal production and support from EDS vehicles.
• Coordinate with local volunteers and agency partners on scene.
• Assist with equipment readiness and deployment during major responses.
• Deliver updates, run sheets, and media information in a timely manner.
