Thrive CSS is seeking dependable, experienced Direct Support Professionals to join our on-call coverage team throughout Bucks County. This on-call role supports multiple individuals and responds to coverage needs as they arise.

Ideal candidates have DSP or related experience, reliable transportation, and a flexible schedule to cover mornings, evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience as DSP, caregiving, behavioral health, or related roles.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

• Responsive phone access and prompt coverage replies.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for last-minute call-outs and planned staff vacations.

Thrive CSS is hiring dependable, experienced Direct Support Professionals to join our on-call coverage team throughout Bucks County.

This position is not assigned to one specific individual or a guaranteed weekly schedule. On-call DSPs help provide coverage when regularly scheduled team members are unavailable due to call-outs, vacations, emergencies, or other staffing needs.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced DSP who has flexibility in their schedule, enjoys working with different individuals and families, and is comfortable stepping in when reliable support is needed most.

What You’ll Do:

As an On-Call DSP, you may support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. Responsibilities will vary depending on the individual and may include:

• Providing coverage for last-minute call-outs and planned staff vacations

• Assisting with daily living skills and personal care, when required

• Supporting community participation, social activities, and appointments

• Encouraging independence, choice, and progress toward individual goals

• Following each individual’s support plan, routines, and safety needs

• Completing required electronic visit verification, shift notes, and service documentation

• Communicating professionally with individuals, families, and the Thrive CSS administrative team

• Maintaining a safe, respectful, and dependable environment

What We’re Looking For:

Because this position supports multiple individuals and may involve short-notice coverage, applicants must be reliable, adaptable, and comfortable entering different home and community settings.

Qualified candidates should have:

• Previous DSP, caregiving, behavioral health, human services, or related experience

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

• The ability to travel to assignments throughout Bucks County

• A dependable phone and the ability to respond promptly to coverage requests

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, which may include mornings, evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• The ability to follow individualized support plans and agency procedures

• A professional, patient, and person-centered approach

• The ability to complete all required background checks, clearances, and training

Important Information About This Position:

• This is an on-call coverage position, not a permanent assignment with one individual.

• Weekly hours are not guaranteed and will depend on available coverage needs.

• Assignments may be planned in advance for vacations or offered on shorter notice for unexpected call-outs.

• On-call DSPs may choose whether they are available for an offered shift, but consistent responsiveness and dependability are required.

• The hourly rate is $25–$30, based on relevant experience, availability, and the needs of the assignment.
