Job summary

Institute for Comm Living in Bronx, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a Floater/On-Call position. This role provides direct care to adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities in a residential setting, with a minimum of 16 hours per week and non-fixed scheduling.

Evening and weekend availability is required (7am-3:30pm, 3pm-11:30pm; Sat-Sun). The position pays an hourly rate of $19.8077, with benefits including health coverage, retirement plan, PTO, and wellness

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certificate preferred.
• Experience providing direct care to adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities preferred.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License with a clean driving record REQUIRED
• AMAP Certification - current or able to obtain within six (6) months of hire
• SCIP-R Certification - current or able to obtain within six (6) months of hire
• CPR and First Aid Certification - current or able to obtain within six (6) months of hire
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and health support, including hygiene, grooming, toileting, medication administration per AMAP
• Support nutrition and mealtime activities, including meal preparation and safe food handling
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized residential environment
• Promote development, independence, and community integration through skill-building and supports
• Observe, document, and report progress; participate in planning and training
• Apply behavior management techniques and respond to emergencies
• Perform other related duties as assigned
