Job summary

Telecare Corporation's Morton Bakar Center seeks a Cook to order, prepare, cook and serve meals for residents, including therapeutic diets. You will handle a range of kitchen tasks, ensuring quality, safety and timely service across various shifts, including on-call coverage.

The role requires 2 years in food production, knowledge of therapeutic diets, and ability to operate institutional kitchen equipment; CPR/CPI/First Aid certs are expected within 60 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in food production and knowledge of therapeutic diets.
• High School graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent.
• Experience using institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators and freezers.
• Knowledge of nutritional principles in preparing regular and therapeutic diets.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be CPR, CPI, and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days and maintain current certification throughout employment.
• Post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, background clearances, and other regulatory checks may apply; driving requirements if applicable.

What You Will Do to Change Lives

The Cook is responsible for the ordering, preparation, cooking and serving of food to members served. This includes seasoning and cooking meat, fish, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts.

Shifts Available

On-Call | Shifts: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM | Days vary as needed

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)

• Two (2) years of experience in food production and knowledge of therapeutic diets
• High School graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent
• Experience in the use of institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators and freezers
• Knowledge of nutritional principles in the preparation of regular and therapeutic diets
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
• All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification.
