Job summary

Telecare Corporation is hiring a Cook to prepare and serve meals for our clients at the Muriel Wright Recovery Center and related facilities. You will handle the ordering, preparation, cooking and serving of food, ensuring adherence to therapeutic dietary guidelines and food safety standards.

Shifts available include Short-Hour AM and Full-time options; starting wage ranges from $23.00 to $25.76 per hour, with geographic differentials applied.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in food production and knowledge of therapeutic diets.
• High School graduation or a GED equivalent.
• Experience with institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators and freezers.
• Knowledge of nutritional principles in preparing regular and therapeutic diets.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications on date of employment or within 60 days.
• Successful completion of pre-employment checks and reference/credential verification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals to members served, including meat, fish, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts.
• Season and manage cooking processes to meet therapeutic diet requirements.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and adhere to safety and sanitation standards.

What You Will Do to Change Lives

The Cook is responsible for the ordering, preparation, cooking and serving of food to members served. This includes seasoning and cooking meat, fish, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts.

Shifts Available:

Short-Hour | AM | Shifts: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM | Days: Sunday - Monday

or

Full-time .8 | 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM Friday - Saturday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Sunday - Monday

Expected starting wage range is $23.00 - $25.76. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)

• Two (2) years of experience in food production and knowledge of therapeutic diets
• High School graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent
• Experience in the use of institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators and freezers
• Knowledge of nutritional principles in the preparation of regular and therapeutic diets
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
• All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. The Muriel Wright Recovery Center SUTS helps people with active substance use issues to transition out of jail more effectively and begin the recovery process in a supportive environment. All services are mental health-informed, using approaches such as Motivational Interviewing and Stages of Change to help engage people in treatment. SUTS services are heavily group-based to build community and support, and are based on the Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) curriculum, a SAMSHA Evidence-Based Practice. Additional services include Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), relapse prevention, physical health screenings, etc. The Muriel Wright Recovery Center SUTS program is an ASAM Level 3.1 service and is operated under contract with Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services Department.
