Job summary

Telecare Corporation's Morton Bakar Center is seeking a full-time cook to order, prepare, cook and serve meals to residents and clients, including menu items that follow therapeutic diets.

You will work full-time AM/PM shifts, with wage starting at $23 per hour; geographic differentials apply. Requires at least 2 years in food production and knowledge of therapeutic diets, plus CPR/CPI and First Aid.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in food production and knowledge of therapeutic diets.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience with institutional kitchen equipment (steam tables, stoves, refrigerators, freezers).
• Knowledge of nutritional principles for regular and therapeutic diets.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current CPR, CPI, and First Aid certifications or within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve food to Telecare members with proper seasoning and cooking.
• Prepare meals including meat, fish, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts.
• Assist with food safety and sanitation per facility standards.

What You Will Do to Change Lives

The Cook is responsible for the ordering, preparation, cooking and serving of food to members served. This includes seasoning and cooking meat, fish, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts.

Shifts Available:

Full-Time | AM/PM | Shifts and days vary as needed

Expected starting wage range is $23.00. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)

• Two (2) years of experience in food production and knowledge of therapeutic diets
• High School graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent
• Experience in the use of institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators and freezers
• Knowledge of nutritional principles in the preparation of regular and therapeutic diets
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
• All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver's license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply.
