Elderly Housing Development & Operations Corporation (EHDOC) is seeking a part-time Maintenance Person for Mayfield Manor III in Canton, OH. The role covers routine maintenance, preventative tasks, and timely responses to requests to ensure a safe, well-kept community.

The position runs 21 hours per week (Mon, Wed, Thu, 7:30am-2:30pm) with a wage of $25.68/hour, along with sick, vacation time, and pension benefits. Facility upkeep includes electrical, plumbing, painting, and janitorial duties.

Qualifications

• Basic Universal License is required or can be completed in first year of employment.
• Hands-on maintenance knowledge across building systems (plumbing, electrical, painting, janitorial).
• At least three years of building maintenance experience.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of working with elderly/handicapped residents.

Responsabilités

• Handle routine maintenance projects as scheduled by Supervisor.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs and keep records of work performed.
• Respond to maintenance requests within 24 hours or notify supervisor with rationale for delay.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests immediately and use call-back system if needed.
• Be part of weekend/after-hours/holiday rotation callbacks.
• Participate in safety programs and evacuation procedures.
• Maintain equipment per manuals and know emergency shutoffs.
• Maintain storage areas, lighting, and locks.
• Perform electrical maintenance on appliances, fixtures, outlets, switches.
• Perform plumbing maintenance (drain stoppages, leaks, fixtures).
• Prepare units for turnover including painting and repairs to ready occupancy.
• Paint common areas as needed.
• Assist inventory control for parts and materials.
• Maintain grounds and common areas to be hazard-free.
• Understand operating manuals for chemicals used.
• Janitorial duties may be required.
• Be diplomatic with residents, staff, contractors, officials.
