Job summary

Stantec is seeking on-call archaeologists to support a growing portfolio of fieldwork across Southern California. The role involves assisting with pre-field planning, surveys, STPs, and monitoring of construction activities, with opportunities to work on CEQA and Section 106 projects.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology, at least one year of field-related experience, and familiarity with DPR 523 forms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Anthropology or Archaeology from an accredited university.
• 1-year minimum relevant experience (i.e., field school, internship, lab experience, CRM field work).
• Archaeological experience in California, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Field Directors and Project Managers with pre-field planning and cultural surveys.
• Identify and document precontact and historic resources per state/federal standards.
• Prepare site records, forms, maps, and photo logs.
