Job summary

Ryan Companies US Inc is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs in a downtown Des Moines, IA office tower. The role includes on-call rotations and responsibilities spanning building systems, lighting, plumbing, painting, irrigation, and general upkeep.

The ideal candidate has a high school degree, at least two years in maintenance, basic computer skills, and knowledge of building operations.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent is required.
• Minimum two years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
• Basic computer skills.
• Positive, helpful attitude when interacting with building occupants.
• Working knowledge of building systems preferred.
• Pursuit of certification or licensing relevant to building operations.
• Boiler operator license (preferred).
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and ability to make needed adjustments and general repairs.
• Microsoft 365 software experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and general repairs on building systems, equipment, and fixtures under the guidance of the Lead/Chief engineer.
• Replace lamps and/or ballasts as required in a timely manner.
• Perform plumbing repairs, door hardware maintenance and repair.
• Perform painting duties as required.
• Maintain and repair irrigation systems.
• Remove debris daily and perform seasonal outdoor duties.
• Maintain mechanical rooms, utility rooms and vacant areas in a neat and clean condition.
• Complete work orders daily or weekly.
• Participate in on-call, after-hours and weekend rotation.
