Job summary

Ryan Building Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs in a downtown Des Moines, IA class B office tower. You will work Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m., participate in on‑call rotations, and support tenants and the building owner by maintaining essential systems and fixtures. Replace lamps and ballasts, perform plumbing, door hardware maintenance, painting, irrigation care, and routine housekeeping of mechanical and utility rooms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of maintenance experience.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Positive, helpful attitude with occupants.
• Working knowledge of building systems preferred.
• Pursuing related certifications/licensing encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Replace lamps and ballasts as needed.
• Perform plumbing repairs and door hardware maintenance.
• Paint as required.
• Maintain irrigation systems.
• Keep mechanical/utility rooms tidy and safe.
• Complete work orders daily/weekly.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
